CLUB A G M. The Annual General Meeting of St. Marys Asdee G A A Club took place at the Community Centre on Saturday night last, January 21st where a large attendance were present that saw just one change in Officership from the previous year Òliver Kearney vacated the positions of Vice Chairman/Registrar and this position will be announced at the first meeting of the Club on Thursday February 2nd. Prior to the Meeting getting underway there was a minutes silence observed for all who suffered bereavements during the past year. Chairman Padraig Vallelly welcomed everybody to the meeting and thanked everybody for their wonderful support once again during the past year. A special word of thanks went to Eamon McElligott of “Mac Oil”Sponsor, Store Bar, Club Referees, Tony O Hanlon Quiz Master, Club Delegates, Senior, Coiste Na nOg, Minor and Under 21 Management. He congratulated the Coiste Na Nog members from Asdee who were part of the Shannon Rangers County Championship success. However the Chairman went on to state, even though it was another good year for the Club; immigration was to take its toll. Secretary, Mark O Hanlon gave a detailed account of the Clubs activities on and off the field during the year. It was a busy year for the Club yet again having teams in all competition in North Kerry and the County competitions with Seniors, Minors, Under 21s,Coiste Na Nog, Cumbann Na Bun Scoil and local Blitzs. In the North Kerry League the Senior team were unlucky not to reach the semi final in Division 2 and County League Phase 2 Division 5 final.However even though we were very much understrength for the North Kerry Championship against St. Senans the team did their best before going down to a much sharper St. Senans side. After winning against Strand Road in the Novice Championship we failed away to Brosna at the Quarter Final stage; there was some consolation though as Brosna went on to win the Munster Final. He finished by thanking all the players for their total commitment during 2011. Treasurers report, Eddie Anthony Walsh outlined the Clubs Finance and urged the club members to get more involved in fundraising. It was a very special occasion as the Club went hunting the Wren after a long lapse and he went on to thank everybody for their support. The following are the Officers for the year ahead;
